Introduction
If you could have anything in the world, what would you want to have the most?

Matthew 5:7-12
Blessed be the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.
1. Who will show mercy to the merciful? (Psalms 18:25; Matthew 7:2, 12)
2. When you see someone in need, do you usually try to help him or her? Why or why not?
Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God?
1. What does it mean to be pure in heart?
2. What did Jesus mean by “they will see God”?
3. How can we keep our hearts pure? Is it easy?
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God.
1. Is it easy to be a peacemaker? Why or why not?
2. Why do you think it’s possible for God’s children to be peacemakers?
3. When you have relational problems, what do you usually do?
Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
1. Does anyone enjoy being persecuted?
2. Why would people be persecuted because of righteousness?
3. Is it important to insist on righteousness in all situations? Why or why not?
4. Why would God bless these people?
