Prov. 10[11] The mouth of the righteous is a fountain of life, but violence overwhelms the mouth of the wicked.
[20] The tongue of the righteous is choice silver, but the heart of the wicked is of little value. [21] The lips of the righteous nourish many, but fools die for lack of judgment.

[10] When the righteous prosper, the city rejoices; when the wicked perish, there are shouts of joy. [11] Through the blessing of the upright a city is exalted, but by the mouth of the wicked it is destroyed. [12] A man who lacks judgment derides his neighbor, but a man of understanding holds his tongue. [13] A gossip betrays a confidence, but a trustworthy man keeps a secret. [14] For lack of guidance a nation falls, but many advisers make victory sure.

wicked.* [7] The memory of the righteous will be a blessing, but the name of the wicked will rot.
[16] The wages of the righteous bring them life, but the income of the wicked brings them punishment.
[27] The fear of the Lord adds length to life, but the years of the wicked are cut short. [28] The prospect of the righteous is joy, but the hopes of the wicked come to nothing. 5. What is the difference between the path of the righteous and that of the wicked? (Prov. 4:11-17) What is at the end of the path for each? (Prov. 4:18-19; see Ps. 1:3-6)
|
Prov. 4[11] I guide you in the way of wisdom and lead you along straight paths. [12] When you walk, your steps will not be hampered; when you run, you will not stumble. [13] Hold on to instruction, do not let it go; guard it well, for it is your life. [14] Do not set foot on the path of the wicked or walk in the way of evil men. [15] Avoid it, do not travel on it; turn from it and go on your way. [16] For they cannot sleep till they do evil; they are robbed of slumber till they make someone fall. [17] They eat the bread of wickedness and drink the wine of violence.
[18] The path of the righteous is like the first gleam of dawn, shining ever brighter till the full light of day. [19] But the way of the wicked is like deep darkness; they do not know what makes them stumble. whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers.
Ps. 1 [3] He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and [4] Not so the wicked! They are like chaff that the wind blows away. [5] Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous. [6] For the Lord watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish.
